Paul is Dead

The Backstreet Boys were here recently. “Live in Vietnam” it said, for their “This is Us” tour sponsored by Water Buffalo Productions.

Backstreet Boys "This is Us" tour, Vietnam.

There are only four Backstreet Boys on that poster, and you know, I could have sworn there were five in their heyday. So I ask, did one die? I asked Valerie, and she said “No way, that’s so sad!?”, but why  be so sad if we’re not even sure if that’s the missing one’s fate? In my book, I’m either sad for him and his family, or incredibly proud he chose to dis his brethren. I know there are search engines to do this type of difficult work for us curious humans nowadays, but really, is that something we really want to type in a search bar? Of course it isn’t, and I requested that Valerie abstain from such a search herself. So if you know the answer, without doing a search, is one of them deceased?

  1. What is sad is that I am posting a comment to answer this question. I'm not 100% sure but I think one of the guys decided he wanted to focus on his family or something, and it was no hard feelings when he left. I have to justify knowing any of this by saying that I did not look this up and I am not or never have been a Backstreet Boy fan. I watched Oprah one day and they happened to do a reunion on her show for their biggest fan. And it wasn't a whole show about them, just the last 10 minutes or something. I'm obviously embarrassed to answer this question with all my qualifiers...see how much I love you?

  2. I did not look this up either but I was watching TMZ Sunday night and they mentioned that the Backstreet Boys are going on their "Second" Cruise tour. Tsk tsk
Never liked them back, touring on a cruise... You can't get away from your fans, or people who think you suck. I watched the whole thing to see if they said anything, but NOPE...So I flipped over to SVU Law & Order (Ahhh got it right SVU SVU)
